Hospital turmoil
Two more hospital trustees resigned Tuesday. Ed Riddell’s and Reggie McNamara’s departures follow the resignation of trustee Jack Swann, which followed the firing of St. John’s Medical Center CEO Jim Schuessler, which came on the heels of Schuessler’s dismissal of the chief financial officer and the assistant administrator. The remaining trustees are trying to fill the leadership vacuum.
Doggone fun
At the inaugural Fun Dog Show, mutt Ellie won best singer, Labrador Sam won best tail wagger and chow mix Asia took honors for her resemblance to Bob Marley.
Shooting for the stars
The new Shooting Star golf course opens today at Teton Village. The Jackson Hole News&Guide got a sneak preview of the 18-hole, par-72 course. It may look fierce, but one member said it may appear more difficult than it is.
Marathon weekend
Leif Seed came to Jackson last week to interview for a teaching position at Jackson Hole High School. Before heading home to Montana, though, he heard an ad on the radio for the Jackson Hole Half Marathon. So he stuck around and won the race.
Fun on the Fourth
From the 6 a.m. balloon launch in Driggs, Idaho, to the 10 p.m. fireworks at Snow King Mountain, Independence Day activities last all day Saturday. Music, food, festivities and fun rule the day.
