A Wisconsin man was arrested on suspicion he was driving under the influence of marijuana Tuesday afternoon when he crashed into a truck on Highway 191 south of Jackson.
Wyoming Highway Patrol arrested Andrew Long, 19, on Tuesday.
One of his passengers, Erinn Powell, 30, was seriously injured in the crash and taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center by helicopter.
On Wednesday, a medical center spokeswoman said Powell was in fair condition.
Long was southbound on Highway 191 just across the county line in Sublette County about 4:15 p.m. when he swerved into the oncoming lane of traffic, Trooper Eric Kaiser said.
Long’s white GMC pickup truck collided head-on with a northbound red Dodge pickup truck driven by Rodney Barta, 46, of Pinedale, according to reports.
Long, Barta and Long’s other passenger, Christopher Pinnings, 20, were all treated and released at St. John’s Medical Center, Kaiser said.
Long’s group came together from the University of Wisconsin to do research in the area, Kaiser said.
Long is currently in custody at the Sublette County Jail.
