For the second straight week, weekend hotel reservations trumped what they were at this time last year, according to the latest survey by the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce.
This week’s report compares Saturday with Sept. 20, 2008, both the final weekend of the Fall Arts Festival.
For Saturday, 78 percent of rooms valleywide are already booked, nearly a 10 percent jump from 2008, when 71 percent of rooms were reserved in advance.
Teton Village hotels lead, with 87 percent of rooms reserved, a 26 percent spike from the 69 percent by this time last year. Next best, downtown Jackson reports 84 percent occupancy Saturday, a 15 percent improvement on last year’s 73 percent.
Every lodging node, except for Grand Teton National Park and Moran, reported increases. In the park, Saturday reservations mirrored 2008 at 74 percent of rooms.
Even the bottom of the barometer fared well. Hotels and motels in the outlying Jackson area have received reservations for 71 percent of available rooms, an 8 percent increase on the 66 percent reserved in 2008.
