Jackson and Teton County planning commissioners are scheduled today to wrap up their discussion of a chapter of the community comprehensive plan that deals with managing growth.
The two boards are expected to review a few points — including how light-industrial uses, nonresidential uses and community character should be addressed within the chapter — at their meeting, which is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the county commissioners’ chambers, 200 S. Willow St.
Commissioners are slated to review all of the recommendations they have voted on to date regarding the second chapter.
Planning staff is expected to review the recommendations to ensure its understanding is in line with the general direction of the two commissions.
A staff report summarizing actions the two commissions have taken so far states that, “The current land-use pattern prescribed by the county’s land-development regulations will protect wildlife and open space and preserve existing communities; base development rights should stay at their current levels; incentives for affordable housing are appropriate only within the town; and that density bonuses should be used as incentives to protect large, contiguous tracts of land in the county,” among several other actions.
