Questions in the forest
Though Forest Service officials say they have yet to make a decision on an unpopular plan to sell administrative land on North Cache Street, they have already spent some of the money they expect to generate from the sale on a new office building in Big Piney. A conservation group thinks that violates federal laws.
Dogs without a house
They are fed and walked. They get petted on occasion. But Wick and Dash sleep on a cold concrete floor. All they want for Christmas is a home. If they wake up on Friday at the Teton County Animal Shelter, they’ll break a record for the longest any dog has waited there for adoption.
$72 million loan
The company building the Shooting Star golf course project in Teton Village secured a $72 million development loan with Wells Fargo – considered a feat in today’s tight credit market. The project leader says liquidity will ensure the project can be finished in accordance with high standards already in place.
Birthday bash
Snow King celebrated the opening of its 70th ski season Saturday morning with coffee, cake, local dignitaries riding the ceremonial first chair, and a surprise musical performance from ski legend Bill Briggs.

More than a dozen tuba, euphonium and baritone players will band together for TubaChristmas, a concert celebrating the low brass section.
