UW student from Moose found dead in Laramie

By Angus M. Thuermer Jr., Jackson Hole, Wyo.
January 29, 2010

Laramie police are investigating the death of a University of Wyoming student from Teton County whose body was found Sunday at an off-campus apartment.

Police Cmdr. Mitchell Cushman said his force received a call at 1:15 p.m. Sunday and responded to an address where they found Megan Fisher, 21, dead. University of Wyoming spokesman Jim Kearns said she was a junior in international studies and from Moose. She graduated from Jackson Hole High School in 2007.

Fisher was seen alive by friends as late as 11 p.m. the night before her body was discovered, Cushman said. He said that he has not seen a report on the death from the Albany County coroner.

During a Jackson Town Council and Teton County Board of Commissioners’ retreat Thursday, officials paused for a moment of silence to recognize the grief of parents Andy and Denise Fisher, and their son.
