Plans for an addition to the Teton County Library building will be available for the public to review this week.
Gilday and Humphries/Poli Architects will show the latest design plans for the addition and other improvements from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the library’s reading room.
Just before the public presentation, the library board will look at the design and cost estimate and decided whether to approve those during its meeting from 3 to 5:30 p.m. in the Ordway Auditorium.
During the public presentation, architects will share their current, refined drawings of floor plans, elevations and models, demonstrating different views of the exterior and interior of the building, according to a news release.
Current design images also will highlight potential building materials, such as glass, stone and wood.
The library seeks $9 million from the specific purpose excise tax to fund the expansion. The Jackson Town Council and Teton County Board of Commissioners will decide by the end of April if the library’s project and 11 others will advance to the ballot.
SPET funding comes from a 1-cent sales tax, and voters must approve which projects receive those funds.
According to the release, the architecture team created the design for an addition and improvements during the past five months after soliciting more than 1,000 public comments. Public comments are still being welcomed.
The library’s average weekday attendance is more than 1,100, an increase of 122 percent from 10 years ago, the release states.
