Lodging reservations continue to post solid numbers, at least compared with last year.
The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce’s latest occupancy survey compares bookings for Saturday with March 12, 2009, and March 15, 2008.
This weekend, 49 percent of rooms valleywide have been booked, a 9 percent increase from the 45 percent tallied at this time last year but a 22 percent slump from the 63 percent in 2008.
All lodging zones reported improvements from 2009 save for the 20 percent slip in downtown Jackson. Reservations in the outlying Jackson area climbed from 22 percent occupancy last year to 41 percent Saturday, an 86 percent spike.
Teton Village boasts the highest percentage of rooms reserved — 63 percent — an 11 percent improvement on the 57 percent already reserved by this time last year. In 2008, 76 percent of Teton Village rooms were booked, 17 percent more than for Saturday.
