Advanced reservations soared for Saturday, narrowing the gap between this summer and the banner season of 2008.
The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce’s latest occupancy survey compares Saturday with Aug. 1, 2009 and Aug. 2, 2008.
For Saturday, 92 percent of rooms valleywide have already been reserved, a 12 percent jump from the 82 percent occupancy reported last year, and only 3 percent less than the 95 percent booked by this time in 2008.
Every lodging area improved upon its 2009 occupancy rates. Standouts include properties in the outlying Jackson area, which rose from 63 percent of rooms reserved in 2009 to 94 percent booked for Saturday — an increase of 49 percent. Teton Village jumped too, by 30 percent, from 74 percent of rooms booked by this time last year to 96 percent reserved this weekend.
