12 apply for Turley’s seat

By Benjamin Graham, Jackson Hole, Wyo.
January 5, 2013

Four more town council hopefuls threw their hats into the ring Friday for the empty seat of departing councilwoman Melissa Turley. The deadline to apply was 5 p.m. Friday.

The last-day additions — Phillip Cameron, Kelly Egan, Lisa Carranza and Chandler Church — push the total field of candidates to 12.

They join Stephen McDonald, Jon Stuart, Emy diGrappa, Don Frank, John Stennis, Kari Cooper, Mark Nowlin and Mike Gierau.

The Jackson Town Council will pick one of the applicants to replace Turley, who won a seat on the Teton County Board of Commissioners at the general election in November.

Council members will discuss the process and schedule of making the appointment at a town meeting Monday.
