Slides kill 2
Powder stashes in trees proved fatal for two backcountry skiers this weekend. Two avalanches that killed a pair of Jackson Hole residents were of a fundamentally different nature, but both ended in deadly collisions with trees.
Dogged determination
In her eighth running of the International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race, Stacey Teasley is in it to win it. Her team is the strongest to come out of the Jackson Hole Iditarod kennels in years, her husband and race director Frank Teasley, says.

The Teton Passers put on an exciting show during the Debra Doom Cup this weekend. Jackson’s A team fought back from a deficit to take the final game to overtime and then to a shootout. Strong goaltending and beautiful goals put the Jackson women on top.
Library lights up
The newly remodeled Teton County Library is bigger and brighter, with 11,000 square feet of new space, a used bookstore, new auditorium and fiber optic public art work. The community celebrates Thursday with an open house.
