Journaling for Insights
Monday, November 12, 2012 – Monday, December 3, 2012
6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Reoccurs every Mon for 4 weeks starting on 11/12/2012
What do our words say about us? What are we communicating to ourselves and to others in the things we write? This course will examine our own writing to see what subconscious messages arise. We will use journaling prompts with homework assignments to analyze in class. Students can hone in on a writing style or type (poetry, fiction, non-fiction) as desired. This class will explore less “personal” concepts than the “Writing as Therapy” class offered in spring semester. Whitney Royster has a master's degree in journalism from UC Berkeley and an undergraduate degree in English and writing from Duke University. She has worked as a natural resources reporter for newspapers and magazines, including the Casper Star-Tribune.
