Cold, rainy weather didn’t keep die-hard antler hunters from perusing thousands of wapiti sheds at the annual Elkfest auction Saturday at Town Square. The auction brought in a record $131,400. See this week’s Jackson Hole News&Guide for more.

Alta Library Book Club: One World Many Stories
Thursday, November 15, 2012
7:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Alta Branch Library, 50 Alta School Road
Alta WY
www.TCLib.org/Alta

"Marley was dead: to begin with..." these chillingly familiar words begin the classic Christmas tale of redemption in "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens. Now, R. William Bennett rewinds the story and focuses on Jacob T. Marley, who previously returned as a ghost to warn Ebenezer Scrooge away from his ill-fated path. Written with a voice reminiscent of Dickens, "Jacob T. Marley" explores choices, consequences, and the power of accountability. New participants are always welcome; no sign-up required. Members take turns bringing snacks.
