Seven candidates are competing for four seats on the Teton County School District No. 1 Board of Education. Those elected serve four years on the seven-person, nonpartisan body that oversees public schools. No incumbents are running.
The field is made up of Debbie Meagher, Greg Dennis, Liz Dufault, Robbi L. Farrow, Cherie Hawley, Dawn Hazen and Kate Mead.
Trustees will decide how to prepare students for the 21st century, recruit and retain teachers and staff in expensive Teton County, and meet state testing requirements while providing curriculum community members value.
The term for new trustees starts at the first school board meeting in December, which is scheduled for the 10th.
