Town Council

Four candidates are vying for two slots on the Jackson Town Council in 2008.

Incumbents Abe Tabatabai and Mark Obringer, who have been at the bench for 12 and 16 years, respectively, moved past the primary.

Louise Lasley and Greg Miles bested a field of seven newcomers vying for the seat. The top two vote-getters in the general election will win four-year terms. Council elections are nonpartisan.

Mayor
Jackson Mayor Mark Barron announced in April that he will run for re-election to a fourth consecutive term. Barron, who owns Blue Spruce Cleaners and High Country Linens, is challenged by former Jackson Town Council member Mike Lance. Lance did not run in the primary election, but he received six write-in votes and accepted the nomination.
