Bookings about even during 2-week period

Every week the Jackson Hole Daily looks at the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce’s lodging barometer for the week ahead, a gauge of bookings that the chamber compiles Wednesday afternoon and posts online Thursday morning. Comparisons are made according to percent change, rather than the difference in percentage points.
Bookings for the week starting Jan. 26 almost mirror last week’s occupancy and show a slight improvement over the same week in 2012.
Total occupancy for the coming week is forecast at 55 percent, the same as last week. The figure in 2012 was 51 percent.
Forecast occupancy in downtown Jackson hotels is 53 percent for the coming week, while in Teton Village the forecast is that 79 percent of lodging will be filled. Those numbers are in the vicinity of lodging occupancy last week and also for the same week in 2012.
Most numbers for two years ago were also near the same as this year with the exception of Teton Village properties. At the village, this coming week’s 79 percent occupancy, though down slightly from last week, was up significantly from 60 percent in 2012 and 57 percent in 2011.
