Proposed scenic helicopter tours from Wind River Air

The Jackson Hole Airport Board has postponed considering Wind River Air’s application to operate scenic helicopter tours from the airport due to coronavirus-related health advisories discouraging public gatherings.

The scenic helicopter tour business wants to pick up clients up at Jackson Hole Airport and overfly places like the Gros Ventre and Jedediah Smith wilderness areas. The controversial plan was expected to draw a large crowd, spurring the board to move the meeting to a bigger venue.

But following advisories discouraging large public gatherings, the board announced Monday that the topic would be “moved to a future Board meeting that the public can safely attend.”

The board’s monthly meeting has been moved to the county commissioners chambers. Starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday, the public can watch the meeting online at: TetonCountyWY.gov/1185/Meeting-Video.
