Art Becker watches the snow fly Monday morning while digging out after a strong storm dumped up to a foot of snow during the previous 24 hours.

Some street parking will be out of commission Saturday morning for Public Works crews to remove snow. The latest storm, a record-setter according to the National Weather Service, made some roads too narrow for cars to safely pass.

Saturday closures, from 7 a.m. to noon, will include:

• Snow King Avenue from Millward Street to Vine Street.

• Cache Street from Snow King Avenue to Aspen Drive.

Public Works crews will also try to finish plowing before 7 a.m. — when parking is allowed — on Kelly Street, Redmond Street and select spots on Broadway near St. John’s Medical Center.

Accumulation on Monday and Tuesday beat the daily snowfall record, kept since 1905, for both days, according to the National Weather Service in Riverton. The storm ranked fourth overall for the two-day snowfall total.
