Beginner skiers can ski for free, and take a free lesson, at the Solitude Station open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.

This week and next, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is celebrating the opening of Solitude Station.

On Saturday, the resort will host an open house at Solitude Station from 12:30 to 5 p.m. The new midstation halfway up the Sweetwater Gondola is a one-stop shop for youth and adult ski and snowboard classes.

During the open house, the resort will offer complimentary lift tickets and rental gear to beginner skiers and snowboarders from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Free beginner lessons will be offered from 1 to 3 p.m.

There will also be food, drinks and music.

Next week, skiers and snowboarders can celebrate the Aerial Tram’s 10th anniversary with drink specials and live music at RPK 3 on Dec. 19. RPK 3 is the restaurant taking the place of Nick Wilson’s, that is set to open soon.
