This year marks 17 since the attack on the World Trade Center in New York City on Sept. 11, 2001.

Jackson Hole Fire/EMS paid tribute with a memorial and bell ceremony at 8 a.m. Tuesday on Town Square. Later, community members joined Fire/EMS personnel in a tribute hike 1,368 feet up Snow King Mountain — the height of the former Twin Towers at the World Trade Center — to honor the 412 emergency responders who died on 9/11.
