2013 Pictures of the Year
- BY BRADLY J. BONER, PRICE CHAMBERS, ANGUS M. THUERMER and JONATHAN CROSBY
A collection of photographs from 2013 shows a wide range of emotions and reminds us of the year gone by.
Some pictures were taken at the decisive moment, others tell stories, and still more capture the peak action our mountain town lives for. News&Guide photographers see life in Jackson and freeze it in time for future generations to study.
Photographers shot everything from birthday parties to sports to wildlife. The resulting images have the ability to reach people and quickly create an emotional response. Whether peering into the eyes of an owl or witnessing a tragic memorial, photographs strive to give another dimension to written stories.
As we move into 2014 and begin a fresh year of news gathering, we will continue to follow the light, run toward the fire and remember that bad weather makes great pictures.
