Missing your teeth?: The lower part of a pair of dentures was found in the front lawn of a church last week. The person who found it believed it had been under the snow all winter. “We don’t know who the dentures belong to or how long they had been there,” Jackson police Lt. Roger Schultz said. The dentures are described as “pink with white teeth and well worn.” If they are yours you can claim them at the police department.
Fugitive caught: Police pulled over a woman for speeding Sunday. She gave the deputy a fake name, but he figured that out quickly and realized she was wanted for felony forgery out of Utah. She was arrested on the warrants and charged with interference for lying about her identity.
Hotel theft: Someone broke into Amangani overnight Saturday and stole several items, police said, including keys from an employee office. The case is under investigation.
Long way from home: An officer saw a woman lying on a sidewalk around 7 p.m. Saturday who appeared to have urinated herself. When asked where she was trying to go, the woman said Pinedale. After blowing 0.268% on a breath test the Daniel resident was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.
Pre 4/20: Four teenage boys were caught smoking marijuana in a car around 6 p.m. Friday. They were cited for possession and use of a controlled substance and released to their parents.
Drunken bowling: A man fell asleep at Hole Bowl’s bar and was arrested on a public intoxication charge. The 45-year-old from Idaho Falls was reportedly already drunk when he entered the business, and employees called police when he passed out.
Save bear’s ears: A $6,000 marble statue of three polar bears was vandalized, police said. The sculpture sits at a private residence in town, and the owner, who had been out of town since January, says someone cut off the smallest bear’s ears. Police have no suspects.
Morning booze cruise: A 29-year-old Victor man was caught drinking and driving at 6 a.m. Saturday on Teton Pass because law enforcement was doing traffic control after a rock slide. When asked how much he had to drink he said, “a decent amount.” He blew a 0.273% on a breath test and was arrested on a DUI charge.
