The Teton County Prosecutor’s Office charged a Jackson man with aggravated assault and battery and one count of unlawful contact after allegedly cutting his girlfriend with a knife.
Police responded to a Jackson residence on Oct. 8 after a woman reported that her boyfriend cut her with a knife and then cut himself, according to a probable cause affidavit. The couple was having an argument, she told police, during which she left to go outside to smoke a cigarette. When she returned inside, the affidavit states, the man was holding two knives in his hands. He then raised a knife and cut her thumb.
The woman told him that she was calling 911, after which he threatened to kill himself, she told police.
When police arrived, they found him in his room lying in a pool of his blood. Police transported the couple to the hospital, where the man remained until Oct. 11, recovering from self-inflicted wounds to the collarbone area.
