Airport Board meeting

Jackson Hole Airport Board member Valerie Brown lays out motions regarding airport noise during a meeting Wednesday. Though the rest of the board initially disagreed with Brown’s insistence that it was worth exploring spreading out noise through residential areas south of the airport, members eventually agreed to hear from staff about what doing so would take.

The Jackson Hole Airport Board has abandoned efforts to find a solution to airport noise that’s “acceptable to all parties.”

But, at one board member’s urging, its five members will now consider looking at a couple of flight paths that will spread noise over multiple residential areas rather than continue concentrating it on those below the airport’s current, federally approved southern departure.
