The Virginian Saloon reopens

Anna Rawska greets guests as they approach the bar at the newly remodeled Virginian Saloon on Monday. While a lot has changed at the historic dive, the taxidermy rams have not. “From the beginning the rams were coming back,” said Erika Dahlby, who does marketing for The Virginian. “They just had a spa day.”

Jackson’s favorite Argentinian will bring back the beat to The Virginian Lodge tonight.

El Papachango, who has performed in Jackson for the past half-decade, will run his global sounds from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. for the first DJ show the Virginian Saloon has seen since it closed for lengthy renovations. Capacity will rest at around 100. Presale tickets have already been snatched up, with the rest available at the door for $20.
