Dr. Dan Forman

Dr. Dan Forman, seen here with Chica the chameleon, owns Spring Creek Animal Hospital with his wife, M.J.

Dr. Dan Forman is the top board volunteer of the year — a new honor created by Teton County to recognize individuals who serve on volunteer county boards.

Forman has been a board member for the Teton County Health Department since its board formed in 2006. He has been the vice-chair for one term and served two terms as the chair.

Board volunteers oversee all manner of county operations and are appointed by the Teton County Board of County Commissioners. Along with giving Forman the award, the county is holding an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Teton County Library to explain the board volunteer role.

The open house is important because applications to sit on county boards is open until Dec. 9. Lunch will be provided at the open house, where interested parties can learn about 20 vacancies the county is trying to fill.
