June Nystrom taught elementary school students how to paint for almost 25 years. Now retired, she works at her own easel full time, most recently to create works for her new show at Pearl Street Bagels.

Up since Sept. 16 and on display through Oct. 15, the exhibition is only Nystrom’s third, and it comes 20 years after her first show at the downtown coffee shop in 2002. The previous two were successes, she said.
