It’s pretty hard to believe it’s mid-August.

It’s even harder still to process all the “end-of-summer” mumbo jumbo that’s beginning to make its way around town.

Don’t let anyone fool you: Even though temperatures have dropped (blissfully), there’s still plenty going on around town. The Wood Brothers and Upstate and JacksonHoleLive? The David Dorfman Dance company’s residence at Dancers’ Workshop? How ’bout Gov’t Mule?

And if that’s not enough for you, and you’re looking for a cheap way to consume some wine, crackers and fine art, make your way into the center of town for the Jackson Hole Gallery Association’s August art walk.

A number of galleries will be open — some with living, breathing artists in-house, others with free wine and drink, and others still with all of the above — from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. You can meander on foot, by bike or however you see fit.

The News&Guide reached out to the galleries in town and put together a quick roundup of walk-related goings-on. More galleries may be open — the ones listed here are the only ones the paper heard from before deadline — so keep an eye out, get out, walk around and enjoy.

Happy trails and happy August.
