J Singleton Financial

Judy Singleton & Hadyn Peery

Finances can be intensely personal.

That reality is something Financial Advisor Hadyn Peery, a newly minted partner at J Singleton Financial, has learned in the years since he joined the personal finance firm.

If anything, Peery thinks the COVID-19 pandemic has emphasized the crucial nature of sound financial decisions in a volatile market.

“Investing is so psychological and an emotional thing to undertake for anybody,” he said. “The pandemic has put a spotlight on the importance of not only being a prudent, intelligent investor, but also an empathetic and thoughtful advisor in the psychological aspect of investing.”

During certain times, things are going to go haywire, he said.

“We have to be there for our clients in order to make nonemotional decisions,” said Peery.

Peery joins J Singleton Financial founder Judy Singleton at the helm of the firm, and he credits their strong mentor-mentee relationship to his professional growth.

“Judy’s greatest strength is she is always willing to go above and beyond and to be open to new things,” he said. “The thought and dedication that she puts into this business is something I want to emulate going forward.”

Jackson drew in Peery for the same reason it lures countless others: the skiing.

He came to Jackson right out of college, worked at the Four Seasons for a few years and met the woman who would become this wife. Unsatisfied professionally, however, Peery moved across the country to Baltimore in 2010 to take a finance job with Morgan Stanley.

It wasn’t until a few years later, while back in Jackson on vacation, that he met Judy Singleton and embarked on the professional partnership that now allows him his dream job in his dream location.

“I’ve fostered relationships with these individual clients so much so that I would consider many of them friends today,” Peery said. “It’s extremely rewarding from my standpoint to be a part of their journey and to be a trusted advisor to them.”
