St. John’s Health Sage Living

On schedule to open in Summer of 2021

After years of planning and fundraising, construction of Sage Living is well underway and the facility is slated to open in summer of 2021.

Sage Living will replace the Living Center, a five-star facility rated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

With 56 beds in three long-term care wings or “neighborhoods,” the fresh, new space will feel even homier while continuing to offer the same award-winning care and programming.

Sage Living will be the only facility in Jackson to offer long-term nursing care with private rooms and a memory support neighborhood for residents with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

“It’s the only such program in the area,” said Executive Director of Senior Living Malenda Hoelscher. “Our five-star care will continue at Sage Living and will build upon the new resident-centered model.”

The new neighborhood concept is a transition from a traditional nursing home model designed to feel more like home, including spacious living spaces, common dining areas with kitchen access, access to outdoor courtyards and wellness space, including walking paths and fitness equipment. The new facility will also feature a Music & Arts Center, library, Town Hall, beauty shop and small medical clinic.

More than just a nursing care facility, St. John’s Health Sage Living will provide a home away from home for those in need of around-the-clock nursing care from an Eden-certified care team and other resources, including access to an on-site nurse practitioner, therapy team, certified music therapist, respiratory therapist and more!

The new facility will also include a 16-bed in-patient rehabilitation unit for short-term care for individuals needing a comprehensive and intense therapy program before returning home from a hospitalization. This level of service will also be new to the Jackson community.
