Giants vs. Idaho Falls baseball

Jackson opened conference play with a road doubleheader on Tuesday, falling in close games to the Casper Oilers.

Jackson dropped the first game 2-1. The Giants gave up two runs in the bottom of the first before holding Casper (36-12-1) scoreless through the rest of the game.

Jackson outhit Casper 8-5 with Matt Ellingson logging three hits in the loss.

Game 2 had Casper win 4-2, though Jackson went up 2-1 in the top of the third inning. The Oilers put up three in the bottom of the fourth inning, and the Giants were never able to mount the comeback.

Jackson begins play at the Boise Wood Bat Classic tournament on Thursday.
