Snow King Mountain Resort debuted its newest addition — a high-speed gondola — at the Town Hill this past Saturday, welcoming the public for a free, scenic ride to the peak.

The gondola was part of a $20 million construction project that took several years to make possible, and is the largest project in the mountain’s history.

Ahead of the opening, Snow King General Ryan Stanley Manager Ryan Stanley dished out praise to members of the community who made the addition possible, before a ribbon-cutting ceremony elicited applause from the impressive crowd on hand.

While the gondola won’t be open for skiers and riders until conditions permit, the resort is offering scenic rides to the top of the mountain for a cost of $30.
