Jackson Hole Airport

Allegiant Air will begin flying into Jackson Hole in June, the company announced in a Jan. 12 press release, which also announced new routes to Portland, Oregon, and Key West, Florida.

The company framed the new route choices around recent trends of travelers flocking to places with options for recreation.

"Today, travelers are seeking destinations that allow them the chance to recreate in a safe way, usually outdoors," said Drew Wells, Allegiant's vice president of revenue and planning. "The three cities we're adding to our network — Key West, Portland and Jackson Hole — are gateways to some of the United States' most scenic destinations, including national parks and other outdoor attractions that are in high demand."

Jackson is the gateway to Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks, which broke visitation records this past summer, and put stress on federal land management agencies, despite the coronavirus outbreak.

Jackson Hole Airport officials remarked on the new airline partner and timeframe in a prepared statement.

"Jackson Hole Airport recognizes the community is currently focused on the pandemic and safety and hopes that by June 2021, widespread vaccines for COVID-19 along with current stringent regulations, will ensure travel continues to make strides in safety," Jackson Hole Airport stated.

"As an airport, we have the responsibility to our community while also providing services to incoming airlines who have a desire to operate out of JAC," the statement continued. "Allegiant Airlines has chosen JAC from their own research and we will, as always, work to provide good service while maintaining the highest safety and sanitation standards of our facility."

Allegiant said it would kick things off with low-priced promotional fares, with flights from Jackson Hole Airport including routes to:

• Los Angeles, California, via Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), beginning June 2, 2021, with fares as low as $59 each way.*

• Phoenix, Arizona via Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA) – beginning June 2, 2021 with fares as low as $59 each way.*

• Las Vegas, Nevada via McCarran International Airport (LAS) – beginning June 4, 2021 with fares as low as $49 each way.*

• Reno, Nevada via Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) – beginning June 4, 2021 with fares as low as $49 each way.*

The asterisks were included by Allegiant to denote caveats on prices.
