Police Blotter

On July 22 at 10:18 a.m. police responded to a burglary. Four fly rods worth nearly $6,000 were stolen from a car, police said. If you know anything about this incident, you’re asked to call the Jackson Police Department.

At about 11:30 p.m. Thursday police stopped a car going 54 mph in a 30 zone. When they approached the car, police could smell marijuana. The driver noted that he had a small “blunt” on him. Officers inspected his car and found more marijuana. The driver also noted that he had a medical marijuana card, police said. Police reminded him that, regardless of the medical marijuana card, the substance is illegal in Wyoming. The driver and one of his passengers were given citations for possession of marijuana.

At about 10 p.m. Friday police broke up a fight in which someone reportedly pulled a gun. The men were fighting over a girl, police said, but they don’t want to press charges against each other. There was no evidence that someone pulled a gun, but alcohol is suspected to be a factor, police said.
