New Fork Fire

Crews continued mopping up the New Fork Fire on Sunday after reaching 100% containment.

Crews have reached 100% containment of the New Fork fire on the Bridger-Teton National Forest's Pinedale Ranger District, Teton Interagency Fire reported today.

Crews were still mopping up the burn area Sunday afternoon, according to the Teton Interagency Fire website. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Firefighters quickly established a line around the fire Saturday keeping it to just 1.2 acres. Four Sublette County engines, two Forest Service engines, and a Type 3 helicopter initially responded to the fire burning south of New Fork Lake.
