Today, the first two gaming permits for mobile sports betting in Wyoming were approved, setting the stage for the market to open later this afternoon.

DraftKings, along with BetMGM, will soon be available for users to wager from their phone.

On Aug. 2, the Wyoming Gaming Commission unanimously voted to approve the set of rules and regulations for mobile gambling in the state of Wyoming.

Since then, mobile sportsbooks have had the opportunity to apply for gaming, by paying a $100,000 up front fee for the license, valid for five years.

In a meeting this afternoon, Wyoming Gaming Commission Executive Director Charles E. Moore, along with the committee commissioners, met to approve the permits.

Both sportsbooks will have the opportunity to open for business in Wyoming at their earliest desire.

The approval of the permits comes just time for the start of the NFL season, which begins Sept. 9.

The University of Wyoming also starts play this weekend. The Cowboys open their season Saturday with a match up against Montana State at 2 p.m.

Mobile wagering will be available for those 18 years and older.
