Highway 191

This web cam image from 11:56 a.m. Thursday shows Highway 191 near the Hoback Rim.

Update, 1:30 p.m. Highway 191 between Pinedale and Jackson is now open in both directions.

Original: Wintry conditions and stuck semi trucks have closed Highway 191 from Hoback Junction to Pinedale.

WYDOT's automated alerts say an opening time is unknown.

At the Rim Station convenience store, perched on the edge of the Hoback Rim overlooking the Bondurant valley, owner Brent Hillen said Wyoming Highway Patrol officers told him semis combined with slick and snowy road surfaces are the problem.

"Couple big rigs had some slipping out coming up the rim," Hillen said at 12:05 p.m. "They're trying to get that cleaned up and off the road."

Law enforcement officers are holding some cars in the Rim Station parking lot because plows are trying to clear the road between the rim and Pinedale.

"It is very, very slippery," Hillen said. "They said it could be 20 minutes to 2 hours."
