Police standoff

Jackson Police Chief Michelle Weber stands outside the East Jackson home Tuesday evening.

A man is barricaded inside of a house on East Hall Avenue near Redmond Street after bear spraying two officers who were responding to a disturbance.

The man has no guns, but has a knife and bear spray, according to Jackson Police Lt. Russ Ruschill, who advised people to avoid the location at this time.

All Jackson police detectives and a sheriff's deputy fluent in Spanish, presumably the alleged attacker's primary language, are on the scene.
