Mountain lion

A mountain lion alternated between feeding on a deer carcass and resting behind a large juniper tree Wednesday on High School Butte. The big cat could easily be seen from South Park Loop Road, and scores of observers lined the sidewalk there to catch a glimpse.

A mountain lion spotted eating a carcass and napping on the slopes right above town has prompted the Teton County School District to send out a warning to parents.

“A mountain lion has been spotted on High School Butte today,” the district sent word in an alert. “If your student walks or bikes to school remind them to be aware and use appropriate precautions.”
