Whiskey Mornin'

Whiskey Mornin’ plays about 40 shows a year across the valley and is the career “bread and butter” of musicians like Leif Routman. Still, the band rarely plays for public audiences. Leif Routman and Taylor Upton, of the the group will play two virtual sets on TREW Gear's Instagram Live Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Each spring, the Whiskey Mornin’ duo – two members from perhaps Jackson's most virtuosic and eclectic cover band – plays a big show at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Though the group won’t be able to play the Moose this year, the musicians figured out a way to keep the party going.

From 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Leif Routman and Taylor Upton will stream a live concert via Trew Gear’s Instagram account. The concert will be hosted by Trew Gear athlete Randy Strand, who will raffle off a TREW Gear jacket and bibs in between the band’s two sets.

Info for the concert can be found at TREW Gear’s Instagram account @trewgear.

A portion of the proceeds from the concert will go to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City’s COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund to support health care workers, local businesses, displaced hourly workers, families, youth and vulnerable New Yorkers that have been negatively impacted by the pandemic.

What will the band play?

“A whole bunch of stuff,” said guitarist Leif Routman. “Zeppelin, Dire Straits and some modern stuff too.”
