Targhee Bluegrass Festival

The Infamous Stringdusters are longtime friends of the Targhee Bluegrass festival and will return this summer.

Nothing says summer like Targhee music festivals, and the Alta resort has announced the lineups for Targhee Fest and Targhee Bluegrass to help begin the winter thaw process.

Targhee Fest will take place July 12-14.

Los Lobos, Drive-By Truckers and Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue will headline each evening, but the rest of the lineup is filled with quality acts.

Friday’s lineup includes Taj Mahal Quartet, Nicki Bluhm and the Commonheart. Galactic, Dumpstaphunk, Larkin Poe, Anders Osbone and the Hawthorne Roots play Saturday. The Motet, Ryan Bingham and Amy Helm will finish out the festival on Sunday.

About a month later, on Aug. 9-11, Targhee Bluegrass will continue the tradition of bringing the country’s best bluegrass and jam acts to the Tetons. This year’s headliners are Sam Bush Band on Friday, Railroad Earth on Saturday and Greensky Bluegrass on Sunday.

Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs will return Friday to the Targhee stage, with the Lil Smokies and Mark O’Connor Band. The Infamous Stringdusters, David Bromberg Quintet, Tommy Emannuel and Jerry Douglas and Jeff Austin Band perform Saturday.

Town Mountain, Del McCoury Band and Travelin’ McCourys take the stage prior to Greensky on Sunday.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday at GrandTarghee.com.
