The Jackson Hole High School Speech and Debate team finished its regular season with a second-place finish in Rawlins.

Fifteen schools competed in the Rawlins Invitational Speech Meet on Friday and Saturday. Riverton placed first among the 3A school.

“We are very excited to see so many team members reaching their strides right before our State and District meets,” Coach Londe Gagnon said in a press release. “With our State meet just a week away, we will be bringing the experience and confidence necessary to make a strong showing there.”

Nearly forty teams will assemble in Riverton from Thursday through Saturday for the annual state tournament. In two weeks, teams from the Wind River District of the National Speech and Debate Association will gather in Green River to qualify selected students for the national tournament held in Dallas in June.
