JHW Daniela Peterson

The Peterson-Olivares family, from left, Nico, 7, Ryan, Sofia, 12, and Daniela pose for a portrait at their home in Jackson on Saturday. Daniela, the founder of La Familia Counseling, is a mental health expert and mother of two. Although balancing work and family life was a challenge during the start of the pandemic, Daniela and Ryan worked together to find a new normal with their kids. Daniela noted that being open and honest about the realities of COVID-19 with her children allowed for an easier adjustment. “We had no choice but to make it work, and to make it work as a family,” Daniela said.
