Former Jackson Hole resident Lance Freeman Banks died April 5 in Idaho Falls, following a battle with cancer. He was 57.

His family provided the following.

Lance is survived by his son Joshua Banks, of Casper; his mother, Sharon Winterstein, of Idaho Falls; and siblings Dawn Banks Hern, of Castle Rock, Colorado; Mark Banks, of Idaho Falls; Scott Finck, of Idaho Falls; Danae Hights, of Salt Lake City; Maria Banks, of Idaho; and Thor Banks, of Washington; and step-brother Donnie Winterstein, of Idaho Falls.

He is also survived by aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.

Lance also had a Jackson Hole family. He and Jean Gregg shared their son, Joshua, and her children, Christopher, Brody and Tanya, and her son Nico. He was so loved by both his families.

Lance was a fixture each season at Cow Pasture fields. He organized and played with a few teams in about a 20-year span. He worked construction in Jackson for many years and was known as “Frenchy” to those who worked along side him.

Lance will be deeply missed by all family and friends, but never forgotten.
