Jackson resident Richard L. Grubman Jr. died suddenly Thursday while in a hospital in Austria. He was 57.

Co-founder of Highfields Capital Management, Grubman was known as an advisor to various investment firms and growing companies. In 2014 he moved to Jackson, where he was an avid skier who cherished his time in the mountains. He is survived by his wife, Caroline Mortimer, and his son, Ellis.
