Dr. John Zehner McFarland IV, a retired radiologist, died Dec. 29 in Pueblo, Colorado. He was 80.

His family provided the following.

John inspired in others a love of travel, good food, nature and national parks. He enjoyed sailing, fishing, skiing, camping, canoeing, snowmobiling and hiking. He was always up for an adventure, and despite traveling throughout the world after his retirement, he always looked forward to returning to his beloved home near Jackson Hole.

John is survived by his wife, Sherri; daughters Jennifer (Andy) Whisman, Jeanne (Steven) McDonald and Janet (Cory) Burlile; stepsons Eric Holst and Paul (Christine) Holst; sister Marjorie H. McFarland; and 11 grandchildren.
